K-Electric Unveils Redesigned Electricity Bill for Greater Transparency and Customer Convenience

Date:

Karachi, August 4, 2025 — In a bid to enhance communication and improve customer experience, K-Electric (KE) has launched a newly redesigned electricity bill aimed at offering a clearer, more transparent view of energy consumption and charges.

The revamped layout, effective from this month, is intended to simplify billing information for KE’s 3.8 million consumers, without altering the tariff structure or user categories. The customer-end tariffs remain unchanged and are uniformly applied across all DISCOs nationwide, as per the Government of Pakistan’s notification in July 2025.

“This new format is a reflection of KE’s commitment to building trust and empowering customers through transparency,” said Noor Afshan, Senior Director and Head of Marketing & Customer Experience at KE. “Our focus was clear: design for convenience and clarity, based on what customers truly want.”

The redesign follows extensive customer research and focus groups across KE’s service areas. Key enhancements include:

  • A snapshot of billing details at the top
  • All calculations consolidated in one section
  • A message box for tariff updates and account-specific notices
  • Detailed breakdown of charges, taxes, and customer information
  • Integration of net metering, smart meter updates, and other service insights on the reverse side of the bill

In a move towards sustainability, KE has also reduced paper usage by integrating formerly separate flyers into the main bill layout. This follows their climate-conscious initiative in 2022 to limit printed materials.

The redesign also supports KE’s digital transformation journey, which saw a 60% rise in e-bill subscriptions between June 2024 and June 2025.

Consumers can explore the new bill format and features on KE’s official website and digital platforms.
